Professor Willem B. Drees after 10 years of editing the Zygon: Journal of Religion and Science has announced his retirement.
A new editor is expected to start by June 30, 2018. Drees, a well-known philosopher and dean of the Tilburg School of Humanities in the Netherlands, took over the helm of Zygon in 2008 as Phillip Hefner retired from the publication.
Zygon is a peer reviewed journal with over 50 years of world leadership in relating and exploring religion and science from multiple perspectives.
“I have found the editorship of Zygon: Journal of Religion and Science a rewarding position. It has given me the opportunity to see much work in the field and be in touch with interesting colleagues,” said Drees of his position. Drees has been a fixture in the field of religion and science and he was president of ESSSAT, the European Society for the Study of Science And Theology, from 2002 until 2008. Professor Drees is the author and editor of many books on religion and science, including Religion and Science in Context: A Guide to the Debates.
The Zygon Joint Publication Board is now conducting a search for a new editor and the specifications and deadline info is posted online.
